Biography

Nikita is a PhD student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at KU. She earned her BA in Spanish and History from Wisconsin Lutheran College, graduating magna cum laude in 2019. Following which, she earned her M.A. from Syracuse University in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture in 2021. Her studies at Syracuse culminated in her Graduate Project which analyzed the relationship between presentational space, collective and individual memory, and the development of Autofiction in the play Ostia (2013)by Sergio Blanco.

Nikita is most interested in contemporary Latin American Theater, particularly that which blends the lines between art and reality like Teatro Testimonial, Teatro Documental, Theatre of the Real, Biodrama, and Autofiction, but pays particular attention to the latter.
