    Offers a number of programs that support faculty at KU. The center can also assist wiith questions about policies that guide faculty processes. 
  • Center for Teaching Excellence
    Offers instructional development support and networking opportunities for professional dialogue on effective learning and innovation in teaching. Provides travel funds for participation at conferences related to teaching and learning.
  • College Faculty Travel Fund
    Supports the presentation of papers at professional meetings and conferences.
  • Faculty Evaluation Plan
    Articulates the standards and procedures for the annual evaluation of faculty within the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.

    Offers US faculty, administrators and professionals grants to lecture, conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields and participate in seminars.

    Provides funding for the advancement of the university's research program.

    Awards research and creative fellowships, provides travel support for research and scholarly consultation in the humanities, funds collaborative projects, and assists with grant preparation. 
  • Keeler Intrauniversity Professorships
    Provides mid-career faculty an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of an academic specialty, to broaden or achieve greater depth in a defined field of study, or to achieve competence in a new area of scholarly endeavor by spending a semester's residence in another academic department.

  • New Faculty General Research Fund
    Provides funding for the advancement of the university's research program to incoming faculty.

  • Post Tenure Review
    Articulates the criteria and procedures for post-tenure review for the Spanish and Portuguese Department.
  • Progress Toward Tenure Review
    Serves as the official statement on matters related to the progress toward tenure review for tenure-track faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
  • Promotion and Tenure
    Articulates the standards and procedures for promotion and/or tenure for the Department of Spanish & Portuguese. 
  • Research Intensive Semester for Junior Faculty
    Offers all junior faculty members in good standing a reduced teaching responsibility at some point during the faculty member’s pre-tenure employment. Faculty members will be released from classroom teaching duties for one semester, depending upon the relevant unit teaching expectations, and will be expected to concentrate on research intensive activities. 
  • Sabbatical Leave
    Applies to tenured and tenure-track faculty and sabbatical-eligible unclassified academic staff of the University of Kansas​.
  • Senior Administrative Fellows Program
    Allows selected faculty to explore senior administration without having to take time away from teaching, service or research.
