2024 Graduation and Honors Ceremony

You are cordially invited to our annual Graduate Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, April 25th at 4:00 PM in the Kansas Union's Big 12 Room! 

The department’s tradition is to host this annual event in order to recognize our graduating seniors and to award our most outstanding Spanish and Portuguese students for their excellent work. We will also celebrate our graduate students for their outstanding teaching and research, and congratulate those who have completed their degrees in our department. For graduating seniors, please invite any friends or family who you would like to bring to the ceremony. Attire is business casual; cap and gowns are not required for graduates attending this department-specific ceremony.

There will be appetizers served after the ceremony, which offers a unique opportunity for your family to meet the professors with whom you have worked during your time studying Spanish and Portuguese at KU.

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP via Qualtrics. While RSVPs or tickets are not required for attendees, they will greatly assist us in planning the space arrangement. The RSVP form also allows graduating seniors to submit their names as they'd prefer written on any printed certificates. Please contact spanport@ku.edu with any questions!
