Mira-Briana Haydu is currently a M.A. student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.  She received her B.A. in Latin American Literature from the University of California at Riverside in 2017 with an emphasis in Experimental 20th-Century Fiction, graduating with Honors and receiving the Summa Cum Lade Award.  Her Senior Thesis, titled "Poesía como un acto de rebelión: Dos poetas mexicanas y el poder de la palabra escrita," explored the poetry of two contemporary, feminist authors from Mexico.  During her time in Riverside, Mira-Briana Haydu was also the recipient of the Heinrich-Steinberg Scholarship for the 2015-16 academic year.
