Ginette Vanessa Pineda focuses on the Andean Word. Her work on Andean Kichwa and eco-spirituality seeks to understand how heightened empathy with plants, animals and land is believed to mediate emotional relations to family and community. Another line of her research focuses on the impact of indigenous environmentalisms in current ecological thinking, including ecological approaches to Latin American literary and cultural studies.
